My City and What I Can Do (A1)

Hello! My name is Ana. I live in a big city. There are many interesting places in my city. Let me tell you about them and what I can do there.

In the city center, there is a beautiful square. There are trees, benches, and a statue. I can walk in the square and look at the statue. The statue is very old. There is a sculptor who made it. Near the square, there is a museum. In the museum, there are old objects. I can see interesting things from the past. There are paintings, ancient tools, and even dinosaur bones!

There is a school in my neighborhood. There are teachers and students in the school. I can learn new things there. I can speak Spanish in my Spanish class, and I can use a calculator in my math class. Next to the school, there is a library. There are many books in the library. I can borrow books to read at home. There is a small device in the library that I can use to count the books I borrow.

Hospital Beside Vehicle Park and Road at Night

When I’m sick, I go to the hospital. There are doctors and nurses in the hospital. They can help ill people and cure them. After visiting the hospital, I sometimes go to the park. There are trees, bushes, and benches in the park. I can walk and relax there. There is a rope in the park, and some children can climb it.

In my free time, I like to go to different places. There is a cinema in the city. I can see a film there. There is also a restaurant near my house. There are waiters and waitresses in the restaurant. I can eat delicious food there. Sometimes, I order an omelette. The chef uses eggs, oil, and salt to make it.

My father works in a factory. There are many products in the factory. He can manufacture goods there. My mother works in a post office. There are letters, stamps, and checks in the post office. She can help people send mail.

On weekends, my family likes to visit the zoo. There are many animals in the zoo. We can see interesting creatures there. There is an animal with a saddle – it’s a horse! People can ride horses, but I can’t do it yet. Sometimes, we go to the stadium to watch football. There are many fans in the stadium. We can cheer for our favorite team. There is a goalkeeper, strikers, defenders, and midfielders on the field.

There is a church in our city too. There is a priest in the church. People can pray there. We can hear beautiful music in the church. Sometimes, there is a person who can play the piano. They might play Mozart! Near the church, there is a cemetery. There are graves and tombs in the cemetery. People can visit their loved ones there.

In our city, there are many other places like a bridge, a hotel, and a petrol station. I can’t visit all of them every day, but I’m happy they are there. There is a bridge over the river. Cars and people can cross the river on the bridge. There is a hotel where tourists can sleep. At the petrol station, there are cars. People can put petrol in their cars there.

I can do many things in my city. I can ride a bicycle – it has two wheels! I can swim in the public pool. There are different swimming styles: breast-stroke, freestyle, and butterfly. I can’t dive yet, but I can swim under the water a little bit.

Friends spending time together with guitar

My brother can play the guitar. He knows many chords and can plunk the strings to make music. My sister can knit. She uses a pullover, wool, and string to make warm clothes.

There is a parking place near our house. There are a lot of cars there. People can park their cars when they go shopping. Next to the parking place, there is a small garage. There is space for one car in the garage.

When it’s windy, I can see boats on the river. The boats can sail using the wind. It looks very exciting!

At home, I can use a computer. There is an email program, monitor, software, and a keyboard. I can type messages to my friends and family.

My city is an exciting place to live! There are so many things I can do and see. Some things I can’t do yet, like drive a car or stand on my head, but maybe when I’m older, I can learn these skills too. What about your city? What can you do there?
