Sleep is very important for our health. Everyone needs sleep to feel good and be strong. When we sleep, our body rests. It helps us heal and stay healthy. Our brain also needs sleep. Sleep helps us think better and remember things.
Most adults need about 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night. Children need more sleep. Children aged 6 to 13 years need 9 to 11 hours of sleep. Teenagers need about 8 to 10 hours of sleep.
When we do not get enough sleep, we feel tired. We can also feel grumpy or sad. It is hard to pay attention and make good choices when we are tired. This is why having a good sleep routine is important. A good routine means going to bed and waking up at the same time every day. This helps your body know when to sleep and when to wake up.
